It’s not easy finding great looking photos to decorate your websites and blog posts with and the last thing you want to do is just rip an image from a random website.
But here’s the good news, there are lots of websites offering professional grade stock images for free which you can use for personal or commercial purposes. What a treat!

Unsplash

Unsplash easily ranks as one of our favourite free stock image sites. Their photos are really classy and look fantastic.
Their about page states:
Over 1 million free high-resolution images brought to you by the world’s most generous community of photographers.

Their licence agreement says: “All photos published on Unsplash can be used for free. You can use them for commercial and noncommercial purposes. You do not need to ask permission from or provide credit to the photographer or Unsplash, although it is appreciated when possible.” See their licence page for more information.
Pixabay

With over 1 million images and videos provided by a generous online community, Pixabay is also a resource-rich place to find the media assets you’re looking for. Additionally, they also have illustrations and vectors.

Undraw

This is an amazing site that provides modern vector illustrations. They have a constantly updated collection of beautiful SVG images that you can use completely free and without attribution.
The great thing about this site is that you can even change the colours of the images before you download them! This feature enables designers to blend their brand colour palettes with these amazing illustrations and use them on their own content.
The Noun Project

This website has over 2 million curated icons created by a global community of illustrators. You will find icons for anything you can imagine. This is a great site to use for creating branded service graphics or just adding a nice touch to your design elements and collateral.
Pexels

If you’re a graphic designer or blogger, or you’re just looking for great visuals for your next project, you’ll find great photos and videos in Pexels that you can use anywhere for free.
This site has a good range of videos as well, which are not easy to come by at absolutely no charge.
Desygner

Having a single platform to sift through the millions and millions of free stock images out there from reputable sources is very handy! This website does just that and also offers designers graphic design tools and templates for quickly creating awesome graphics.

The sign up process is easy and if you are after free imagery, you can sign up to the free account. With Desygner, you can quickly search the most popular free stock image websites such as Unsplash, Pixabay and Photodexia from a single search bar that allows you to filter by image orientation and image platform. Of course, if you are after paid imagery, you can quickly find what you are looking for by filtering through their premium collection from Shutterstock.
